The city of Mumbai is also called by its citizens as ‘Aamchi Mumbai’. Previously, this city was called Bombay. Its history
This city was ruled by several successive dynasties like the Abhiras, Satavahanas, Vakatakas, Konkan Mauryas, Kalachuris, Rashtrakutas, Chalukyas and Silharas. The name ‘Mumbai’ was firmly and officially established in the year 1996 with a consensus.
